In 2003 Keen Footwear was started with the purpose of creating a durable sandal-like shoe that would still protect your toes. Out of that one goal Keen has developed some of the most comfortable shoes for hiking, work and play on the market. Though Keen has grown considerably in the last 8 years they haven’t forgotten what’s important; The people in the shoes and the planet they walk on.  In fact Keen donated it’s entire marketing budget in 2004 to the Indonesian Tsunami relief efforts. Keen is also dedicated to creating eco-friendly footwear in their lines, some of which are made from re-purposed and recycled materials.

Meet the Keen Harvest MJ , Rice Bag Edition. This shoe is literally one of a kind, the uppers are made from interwoven strips of recycled rice bags, so no 2 shoes are the same. Rice is the 2nd highest produced grain in the world so their is no shortage of materials either.  The footbed is not only comfortable but it’s also made of recycled polyurethane and cork.
